COLUMBUS
Kathryn L. McCreary, 87, of Columbus, passed from this life at 12:23 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022, at Four Seasons Health Care Center.
Mrs. McCreary was born July 12, 1934, in French Lick, Indiana, the daughter of Chester and Lula Dorsett Weidman.
She married John “Mac” McCreary January 21, 1972.
Kathryn retired from Culligan as office manager in 2001 after 31 years of service.
She was a member of Community Church of Columbus.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Mac McCreary; children, Julia Bates of Carmel, Ronald (Pam) Bennett and Bruce (Jeri) Bennett both of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Natalie Bates, Nicole (Shane) McElwee, Alan (Holly) Bennett and Blake Bennett; 4 great-grandchildren and a sister, Rita Joyce of Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Nicholas Bates, Blair Bennett and Brooke Bennett and a sister, Shirley Combs.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Community Church of Columbus with Mike Mantooth officiating.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to time of service Friday at the church.
The family request that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
