North upsets No. 3 Fishers

FISHERS — Class 3A No. 11 Columbus North pulled out an 8-7 upset win Monday night at 4A No. 3 Fishers.

The Bull Dogs (18-4-1) trailed 7-2 after two innings. Blake Osbourne came on in relief and pitched five scoreless innings to pick up the win.

Luke Harmon had three hits, including a double, and Zach Wager had two hits and two RBIs for North. Will Baker had two hits, and Dillon James had two RBIs.

SOFTBALL

Jets clinch outright title

MORRISTOWN — Class A No. 3 Hauser clinched the outright Mid-Hoosier Conference title with a 13-1, five-inning win at Morristown.

Hannah Taylor went 3 for 4 with two home runs and six RBIs for the Jets (18-3-1, 9-0). Maley Jordan went 3 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs, Reagan Johnson went 3 for 4, Lucie Asher went 2 for 2 and Izzy Brunner went 2 for 4 with three RBIs.

Paige McDaniel threw a two-hitter and struck out nine.

Lancers down Mohawks

EDINBURGH — MacKenzie Bieker threw a three-hitter with 18 strikeouts and went 3 for 4 with two RBIs at the plate to lead Edinburgh to a 7-1 Mid-Hoosier Conference win against Waldron.

Katie Hardman went 3 for 4 with a double for the Lancers (10-10, 5-4). Gracie Crawhorn went 2 for 3 with a double, and Kyah Streeval went 2 for 4 with two doubles and two RBIs.

Chargers blank Cougars

GREENSBURG — South Decatur was limited to two hits in a 15-0, five-inning MHC loss at North Decatur.

Loryn Pate had a triple for the Cougars (5-13, 3-5).

Trinity tops Milan

MILAN — Grace Lance drove in seven runs and combined with Kamzi Gross on a five-hitter to lead Trinity Lutheran to a 17-4, six-inning win at Milan.

Bailey Tabeling, Gross and Lance all had three hits for the Cougars (11-7). Dianna Munoz had three RBIs, and Morgan Brewer added two RBIs.

Eagles fall to Stars

NASHVILLE — Brown County won the No. 1 singles match, but Bedford North Lawrence took the other four to post a 4-1 victory.

Anna Stogsdill beat Rachel Kidd 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles for the Eagles (10-9).

Brown County’s Anna Tipton fell to Naudia Anderson 6-3, 2-6, (10-6) at No. 2 singles, and Kylie Workman lost to Italy Lewis 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles. Katie Tipton and Mary Rygiel fell to Bella Stigall and Mallory Pride 6-1, 7-6 (2) at No. 1 doubles, and Julia Burt and Mattie Satter lost to Kenley Craig and Izzy Alldredge 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

Trojans topple Panthers

ST. LEON — East Central won four matches in straight sets in a 5-0 win against Jennings County.

Reagan Brown fell to Heidi Kane 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, Tatum Brown lost to Peyton Pies 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Mia Silvey fell to Daphne Smets 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Panthers (9-11).

Jennings’ Maria Alberti and Lucy Brown lost to Michelle Batta and Elizabeth Kirchgassner 7-5, 4-6, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. Amy Vogel and Caitlyn Schuck fell to Avery Daniels and Kelsey School 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.
