Fuller
A Smithville, Tennessee driver was arrested Saturday on possession of a controlled substance preliminary charges after a traffic stop in the 11000 block of North U.S. 31.
Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputy Dylan Prather conducted the traffic stop at 10:26 p.m. on a vehicle with a Tennessee registration driven by Reagan Fuller, 23, Smithville, Tennessee. Fuller told Prather that the vehicle belonged to a friend and Fuller was driving it from Michigan to Tennessee.
Fuller also told Prather that marijuana was inside the vehicle and handed him a brown bag. Inside the bag, Prather located a sealed pink container with four individual containers – two of which contained a rolled marijuana cigarette.
When BCSO Sgt. Gary Knoef arrived on scene, Fuller was asked to exit the vehicle. Fuller told deputies that nothing else illegal was inside the vehicle.
Assisted by Edinburgh police, Prather searched the vehicle and found a brown box, with what appeared to be a Tommy gun in the back seat, along with a circular magazine that would hold ammunition for the gun.
Two leather motorcycle jackets were located inside the trunk, one with “NOMAD” on it.
Paperwork showed the jacket belonged to someone other than Fuller. The other jacket had a gold badge, identical to a law enforcement badge, with the words “Handgun Carry Permit TN” on it.
When asked about the items, Fuller indicated the items were being transported for a friend.
Fuller was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
While at the jail, suspected heroin/fentanyl was located on Fuller’s person, jail officials said. It was determined that the total weight, including the bag, weighed 6.23 grams. Prather opened the larger bag and observed 8 smaller bags of a grey substance. The total weight was 4.87 grams, deputies said.
After examination, the Tommy gun was found not to have a firing pin, but it appeared to have all other components. Further investigation is pending on the Tommy gun, deputies said.
Fuller remains in jail in lieu of $61,000 bond, jail officials said.
