High school graduations set for May 27 and 28

Graduations for the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. and Hauser Jr.-Sr. High School will take place in two weeks, with livestreaming and in-person attendance available for each event.

CSA New Tech’s commencement will take place on Friday, May 27 at 7 p.m. on the Columbus East football field (or inside the gym in the event of inclement weather).

Hauser will have its graduation at 8 p.m. on May 27 in the school gym.

North and East’s graduations will both take place on Saturday, May 28. North’s is set for 10 a.m. in the school’s Memorial Gym. East’s will take place at 1 p.m. on the football field (or inside the Orange Pit gym in the event of inclement weather).

Principals from all four schools said that tickets are not required, and there is no limit on attendance. Most said that COVID-19 protocols will not be in place for the events.

“We encourage family and friends to be safe,” said North Principal David Clark. “We will follow current BCSC guidelines.”

Additionally, all four graduations will be livestreamed on YouTube. Hauser’s will be available on the school’s channel, and all three BCSC graduations will be available on the school corporation’s channel.

Principal Mike Reed said there are 70 students in CSA New Tech’s graduating class. According to the school’s website, students can also walk with their home school (which would be East or North).

Clark said North’s list of graduates currently has 483 students, and this year marks the school’s 150th commencement ceremony. There are 340 students graduating from East this year, said Principal Mark Newell.

Principal Kris Fortune said that 79 students are expected to graduate from Hauser.
