JENNINGS COUNTY — A Butlerville man has been arrested and is being held in the Jennings County Jail on three preliminary charges of child molesting.

Lamar J. Yoder, 30, was arrested Wednesday by the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, which with the Indiana Department of Child Services had launched an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse involving a child.

According to information released by the Jennings County Sheriff’s Department, Detective Ian McPherson determined there may have been multiple victims who were foster children. All children were relocated at the beginning of the investigation, the sheriff’s department said.

Yoder was held without bond Thursday on suspicion of three counts of Level 4 felony child molesting. Formal charges had not been filed as of Thursday afternoon.

The Jennings County sheriff and prosecutor offices declined to release further information on Thursday.
