Dorothy “Marie” Jensen passed away peacefully at her home in Idaho Falls, Idaho on May 16, 2022. She died on her 97th birthday of causes incident to age.
Family was very important to Marie, and she deeply loved all her family members. They are now scattered across the country, but have retained the closeness among them that meant so much to Marie. She demonstrated to her children that joy could be found through acts of kindness toward others. Marie had a radiant smile that lit up any room and a wonderfully optimistic attitude throughout her life. Marie loved to play the piano and she particularly enjoyed the
popular songs of the 30’s and the 40’s. She and her husband both loved music and laughter and passed those loves on to their children.
Marie is survived by her six children: Carol (Art) Wiegand of South Bend, Indiana, Nels (Ann) Jensen of Idaho Falls, Idaho, John (Mattice) Jensen of Crozet, Virginia, Gaye Keith of Columbus, Indiana, Lisa Jensen-Smith of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Kristin (Tony Williams) Jensen of Kearns, Utah. She leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 2 great- great-grandchildren, and countless friends who loved her very much. Marie was the last among her siblings to pass away. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, “Al” in 1971, by her son-in-law Bryan Smith (2007) and grandsons Orrin Jensen (2010) and Dana Jensen (2015).
Memorial services will be held in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on Saturday, May 21, 2022.
