Rosemary Renae Albright

COLUMBUS, INDIANA

Rosemary Renae Albright, 51, of Columbus, passed from this life at 7:34 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2022, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Rosemary was born July 25, 1970, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of Irvin and Nancy C. Bex Lucas. On August 4, 1990, she married Todd W. Albright.

Rosemary graduated from Columbus North High School in 1988. She started her college career in education in 1988. Instead of finishing her degree, Rosemary took time off away from school after getting married to Todd. She loved being home with their two daughters, Macy and Maddie. While she was a stay-at-home mom, she worked parttime doing office work for her dad’s painting business. Later, Rosemary returned to college and received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from IUPUC in 2007. She added a dual licensure in English as a New Language. She taught hundreds of children to speak English throughout her teaching career.

Rosemary then earned her master’s degree in education in 2009. She was a teacher at Seymour Jackson Elementary School for thirteen years. She was passionate about teaching and learning and helping her ESL students and their families.

Her greatest passion and love was taking care of her family. She loved cooking, trying new recipes, traveling, and reading and collecting children’s books.

Rosemary was a long time member of New Hope Christian Church and a current member of St. Paul Lutheran Church-Clifty. She was open about her faith in Jesus Christ and shared how the good news of the Lord helped her and her family fight the most difficult trial in their lives after she was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2020.

She loved to tell stories about her family. She was very proud to be a wife and mother and most recently a grandmother. She described being a Grammy as the greatest joy. She also loved collecting unique dishes and having tea parties with her girls. She loved the holidays and the changing of the seasons.
