Larry Howard Kinman, age 80, passed away on Friday, May 20th, 2022. A beloved husband, father, grandpa, “papaw”, great-grandpa, brother, and brother in-law, Larry will always be remembered for his kindness and generosity towards others.
Larry was the son of Howard and Virginia (Hon), born in Patriot, Indiana. He is survived and lovingly remembered by Diana (Minks), wife for more than 62 years, son Larry Jr. (Diane) from Edinburgh, Indiana and daughter Kimberly (Kinman) Ouellette (Brian) from Columbus, Indiana, sisters Vera (Kinman) McAlister from Patriot, Indiana and Mary Katherine (Kinman) Marble (Nathan) from Louisville, Kentucky, granddaughter Carla (Kinman) Umphries (Andy), grandsons James Kinman (Beth), Preston Johnson (Deidree), Clayton Johnson (Samantha), and nine great grandchildren.
Larry worked for Cummins Inc. as a supervisor, retiring in 2006 after over 30 years of service. Before coming to Columbus, Indiana Larry worked at the Aurora Casket Company in Aurora, Indiana. After retiring, Larry spent his time working various construction jobs and operating a lawn mowing business. Larry had a passion for woodworking, construction, farming, horses, dogs and cats (actually all animals except for racoons).
Visitation will be held at Jewell-Rittman Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 24th, 2022, from 9:00am to 11:00am. Larry Antle will conduct a celebration of life service following visitation at 11:00am. Mike Jones will be overseeing burial at Eastview Cemetery in Patriot, Indiana at 3:00pm.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made through Jewell-Rittman Funeral Home toward either the American Cancer Society or the Bartholomew County Humane Society, in Larry’s memory.
