COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus Police Department detectives arrested the suspect in the burglary of a Columbus pharmacy that occurred on May 31st.
Officers were dispatched to the Centerstone Pharmacy, 720 N. Marr Road and were advised that medication as well as an undisclosed amount of currency was stolen from the building. During the investigation, detectives obtained security camera footage which was shared with the public via local news outlets as well as social media, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
Following up on tips and information received from the public, officers made contact with Brent D. Mullis, 48, of Columbus on Wednesday. A search warrant was executed in regards to the investigation and Mullis was taken into custody a short time later, Harris said.
Mullis was placed under arrest and was remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on the following preliminary charges:
- Burglary (Level 5 Felony)
- Theft (Level 6 Felony)
- Criminal mischief
He remains incarcerated on a 48 hour hold as the investigation continues, jail officials said.
