NORTH VERNON
Floy Dixon, 81, of North Vernon, passed away at 2:59 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
Born November 20, 1940, in Closplint, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Eli and Callie (Huff) Smith. She married Arthur Dixon on November 7, 1959, in Harlen, Kentucky; he survives.
Mrs. Dixon was devoted mother and wife and had worked 34 years for the former Regal Rugs in North Vernon before retiring. She was a member of the Sanctuary of Columbus and enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers, she had a green thumb.
Surviving with her husband, are her sons, Phillip (Resa) Dixon of Seymour and Timothy (Lisa) Dixon of North Vernon; her daughter, Kimberly (Stuart) Hudson of Columbus; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Phyllis Thomas.
A funeral service for Mrs. Dixon will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2022, at the Dove-Sharp &Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremations Service in North Vernon with the Rev. Matthew Johnson officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont.
Memorials in honor of Mrs. Dixon may be made through the funeral home to the Sanctuary of Columbus-Kitchen Fund.
