ELIZABETHTOWN
Gary W. Leonard, age 71, of Elizabethtown, Indiana passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Gary was born September 21, 1950 in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Willie E. and Margaret Beesley Leonard. He married Jane Patton June 28, 1983 in Columbus.
Gary retired from Shelby Material after 13 years as a dredge operator. He was a member of Hope Community Church of God and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Gary is survived by his wife, Jane Leonard of Elizabethtown; his son David (Mary) Leonard of Elizabethtown; and his daughter Rose Marie (Mark) Nickerson of Taylorsville; his brothers, Bill (Robin) Leonard of Columbus, Kendall (Lisa) Leonard of Columbus, Randall (Yvonne) Leonard of Elizabethtown, Larry Leonard of Clifford, Willie (Ann) Leonard, Jr. of Taylorsville; his sisters, Teresa (Terry Warren) Leonard of Columbus and Anita Leonard of Clifford.
Also survived by 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gregory, Terry and Roger Leonard; step-daughters, Teresa Miller and Susan Steining; 5 grandchildren.
A visitation for Gary will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Myers~Reed Chapel, on 25th Street. A funeral service will occur Friday, June 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM, at the funeral home with Pastor Gerald Hancock officiating. Followed by burial in Garland Brook Cemetery.
