North Vernon launching free summer entertainment series

NORTH VERNON — A new free summer live entertainment event is set to debut tonight in downtown North Vernon.

Stellar Summer Nights will take center stage at 6 p.m. at Stellar Plaza, 50 Short St. The event is a signature series for the newly recognized North Vernon Main Street organization that will take place on the fourth Friday of June, July and August.

Friday’s kickoff event, Young Talent Showcase, will feature live entertainment beginning at 6:15 p.m. from Jennings County performers ages 10-21, according to North Vernon Main Street director Anna Walker.

“There will be a variety of talents showcased, including singing, acting, and a punk rock band,” Walker said.

Attendees are urged to bring a chair and grab food to go from participating downtown restaurants. Missy’s Ice Cream & Treats and The Wurst food carts will be on the plaza during the event.

More information about the event is available on the North Vernon Main Street Facebook page.
