COLUMBUS, Ind. — Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested a local man on multiple preliminary charges after he fled on foot during a traffic stop Saturday.
At 11:51 p.m. Saturday, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Deputy Anthony Bagby
conducted a traffic stop at U.S. 31 and Eisenhower Drive.
During the stop, it was discovered that a passenger in the vehicle, identified as Connor Spachtholtz, 33, of 1105 17th St., Columbus, had two outstanding arrest warrants, deputies said.
During the arrest, Spachtholtz fled from the vehicle on foot but was shortly apprehended by deputies on scene. Deputies also seized prescription pills and illegal narcotics from the scene.
Spachtholtz was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital for evaluation then to the Bartholomew County Jail without further incident.
Spachtholtz was being held in jail in lieu of $195,000 bond on preliminary charges of:

–Dealing controlled substance
–Possession controlled substance
–Resisting law enforcement
–Possession of paraphernalia
–Warrant (2)
