July 4th closings

The following closings have been announced for July 4.

  • Bartholomew County offices, including the Bartholomew County Courthouse, will be closed Monday.
  • Columbus city offices, including Columbus City Hall, will be closed Monday.
  • There will be no Columbus city trash/recycling collection on Monday. Pickups will be on a one-day delay, with Friday’s collections planned for Saturday. Toters need to be out by 7 a.m. The Columbus Department of Public Works offices will be closed Monday and reopen at 7 a.m. July 5. Visit columbus.in.gov/publicworks for more information.
  • The Columbus City Utilities will be closed Monday. Summer business hours resume July 5 at 7 a.m. Customers with a problem with water or sewer service should call the business office at 812-372-8861 and follow the prompts.
  • The Republic offices will be closed Monday to allow employees to enjoy the holiday with their families. The newspaper will continue its regular publication schedule and will be publishing a newspaper on Monday.
