Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors LP will continue work beginning Wednesday on a $5.7 million asphalt resurface project that began earlier this year. Milling will begin on U.S. 31, between County Road 300E and Market Street in Columbus. Asphalt paving will follow.
Motorists should expect overnight lane closures, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. This work is expected to wrap up by late September. Crews will be active Monday through Friday, weather permitting.
Intermittent flagging and restrictions are possible on intersecting side streets during the project. Motorists should also be aware of rough pavement and changes to signal timings due to milling operations. The contract was awarded to Milestone in March and has a completion date of Oct. 30.
