Flash flood warning issued for northeastern Bartholomew County

8:35 A.M. UPDATE

The National Weather Service in Indianapolis has issued a Flash Flood Warning for northeastern Bartholomew County until 11:30 a.m.

At 8:22 a.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A flood advisory is in effect for Bartholomew, Decatur, Johnson, Rush and Shelby counties due to large amounts of rain. The advisory is in effect until 10 a.m.

Minor flooding in low-lying areas is predicted.

The advisory includes the cities of Franklin, Edinburgh, Hope, Flat Rock, Hartsville and Greensburg.
