Olympians take second, Panthers third

SEYMOUR — Columbus East finished second out of seven teams in Wednesday’s Seymour Invitational.

New Albany won the team title with a 360 at Shadowood. The Olympians finished with a 378, and Jennings County took third with a 411.

Katie Hong finished third individually with an 85 to lead East. Carter Gant placed fifth with an 88, Lilly Steinwedel carded a 95, Grace LaSell and Ali Trueblood each shot 110, Avery Brooks added a 111 and Dyana Foster had a 117.

Sophia Curry finished second individually with an 80 to lead the Panthers. Alexis Carson carded a 93, Lauren Galvan added a 104, Shelby Davis shot 134 and Rachael Manning had a 136.

Eagles fall to Braves in opener

TRAFALGAR — Brown County opened its season with a 221-233 loss to Indian Creek at Tameka Woods.

Hannah deWeerdt led the Eagles with 49. Savannah Poling carded a 56, Lilly VanNess added a 60, Ava Stogsdill shot 68 and Chloe Poling had a 70.
