Connie Sue Hadley, 64, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at IU Methodist Hospital. Connie was born August 19, 1957 in Columbus, Indiana. She was the daughter of Cordis Clifton and Mattie Joyce Bennett.
Connie was proudly part of one of the first graduating classes from Columbus East. She attended Ivy Tech Community College and graduated with an associate’s degree. She worked as an administrative assistant at Cummins Engine Company for several years before retiring.
She was an avid Science Fiction Fan and enjoyed watching Star Trek and UFO. Connie was very talented and channeled her creativity into arts and crafts as well as drawing cartoons. More than anything, she loved her family and looked forward to every family game night spent with them.
Connie leaves behind her daughters, Christina (Matthew) Baker and Melissa (Shilo Swayze) Walton; grandsons, Charles (Mackenzie), Jacob (Riley), and Jeremiah Walton; great-grandson, Emmett Young; sister, Joeanne Moon; brothers, Paul (Melba) and David Bennett; and great-nephew, Nic Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Shirley Anderson.
A funeral service for Connie will be held Saturday, August 6 at 1 p.m. at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor Eli Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Haw Creek Cemetery in Hope, Indiana. Friends may gather for visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Memorial donations in Connie’s name may be made to the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
