Holcomb directs flags to half staff in memory of Elwood police officer Noah Shahnavaz

INDIANAPOLIS – Gov. Eric J. Holcomb is directing flags in the State of Indiana to be flown at half-staff in honor and remembrance for Elwood Police Officer Noah Shahnavaz.

Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, Aug. 6.

Gov. Holcomb also asks businesses and residents in Indiana to lower their flags to half-staff.

Also, the Indiana Fallen Heroes Foundation has established an official memorial fund to honor Shahnavaz. The Elwood police officer was shot and killed whiel conducting a traffic stop on State Road 37 and county Road 1000N in Madison County on July 31.

The foundation is the official location for donating funds designated by the Elwood Police Department to accept monetary donations to the family. To donate, visit any First Merchant Bank and reference the Indiana Fallen Heroes Foundation.
