Local man arrested for OWI after accident involving juvenile

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Bartholomew County sheriff’s deputies arrested a local man on multiple charges including operating a vehicle while intoxicated after an accident at 10:13 p.m. Saturday at Sprague Road and County Road 525W.

The driver, identified as Nicholas Bokich, 35, 0f 8211 S. Sprague Road, Columbus, and a juvenile, received minor injuries in the crash, deputies said.

The juvenile was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment. Bokich was taken to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of:
–Operating a vehicle while intoxicated
–Operating a vehicle while intoxicated – endangerment
–Operating a vehicle while intoxicated – prior conviction
–Reckless driving
–Leaving the scene of a crash
–Resisting law enforcement
–Neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury
Bokich was being held in jail in lieu of $47,500 bond, jail officials said.
