Nicolena Beach

Nicolena “Nicki” (Sapienza) Beach of Findlay, OH, passed away after a brief illness at 3:54pm on Sunday, August 7, 2022 surrounded by friends and family. Nicki lived independently until the last week of her life.

She was born October 27, 1926, in Findlay, Ohio, to the late John and Mary (Tutino) Sapienza. Nicolena was the last surviving child of John and Mary. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers: Jack Sapienza, Lucille Dryer, Marie Roller, Katherine Davis, and Dominic Sapienza. She attended Findlay High School and graduated in 1945.

On June 12, 1948, she married Herbert E. Beach of Arlington, Ohio. They were married 68 years and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2016. She is survived by their son Anthony Beach of Columbus, IN; daughter Patricia (Dennis) Niederkohr of Sun City Center, FL; granddaughter Sarah (Andrew) Wong of Apollo Beach, FL; grandson Nicolas Niederkohr of Riverview, FL; and Bradley (Jennifer) Beach of Columbus, IN, and five great-grandchildren Anna and Benjamin Wong, Leon Niederkohr, and Emily and Adilynn Beach.

Nicki was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend. Friends and family will remember her generous and fun-loving spirit, strong faith as well as her determination in later years. She was very generous with her love and demonstrated it in many ways. She was always there to help her family and friends when needed, whether giving advice, just listening, or lending a helping hand. Nicki was also a lifetime member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Findlay, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Michael Catholic Church 750 Bright Road, Findlay, OH 45840, Good Hope Lutheran Church or donors choice. Private services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Coldren-Crates Funeral Home and condolences can be shared with the family at coldrencrates.com.
