A new candidate has filed to run for the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. school board.
David Vincent, 70, filed his candidacy for District 1 around noon on Tuesday. The seat is currently held by board president Jill Shedd, whose term expires at the end of this year. Shedd has not filed for re-election at this time.
Anakarina Hurtado, 30, has also filed to run for District 1.
Candidates were able to begin filing for local school board races on July 27, and the deadline to turn in all necessary paperwork is Friday, Aug. 26 at noon.
