NORTH VERNON
Marilyn R. Morrison, 83, North Vernon, passed away at 12:10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Richard Burcham will officiate. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 18, 2022.
Born on April 13, 1939, in Seymour, Marilyn was the loving daughter of James E. Moore and Lloyd (Sawyer) Money. She was united in marriage to Verlin Morrison. He preceded her in death.
Marilyn graduated from North Vernon High School in 1957 where she enjoyed participating in cheerleading, playing in the band, and singing in the choir. She was a piano teacher and kindergarten aide in Florida. She retired from Regal Rugs after 17 1/2 years. Marilyn served on the Burnt Pines water board. Marilyn enjoyed playing euchre. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
Marilyn is survived by children, Christina (Mike) Clark of St. Cloud, FL, Gary (Joanne) Castor of North Vernon, Terry (Darlene) Castor of North Vernon, Cathy (Russell) Norton of North Vernon, Judy (Don) Cooper of North Vernon, and Angela (Steve) Lamaster Gresham of Seymour; sister, Saundra (Robert) Coffman of North Vernon; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Moore and Lloyd Money; husbands, Connard Castor, Robert King, Joseph Hester, and Verlin Morrison; son, Ricky James Castor; brother, James Donald Moore.
