Hauser boys finish 20th in invitational

SHELBYVILLE — The Hauser boys cross-country team finished 20th with 508 points. in Saturday’s Jeremy Wright Memorial Invitational hosted by Southwestern (Shelby) at Blue River Park. Austin won with 69 points.

Nolan Dailey and Colin Kistler led the Jets with 41st- and 42nd-place finishes in 19 minutes, 17.14 seconds and 19:17.22 for 5,000 meters (3.1 miles). Ledger Gelfius took 172nd in 22:39.83, while Taylen Absher was 207th (24:00.00) and Kase Meister 218th (24:24.01).

Edinburgh had three runners, two short of the number needed to score as a team. Brian Callejas finished 234th in 25:22.50, while Irving Luis-Orozco was 238th (25:35.91) and Ethan Campbell 267th (20:34.06).

Neither Hauser nor Edinburgh had enough girls runners to score as a team. Forest Park won the event with 95 points.

The Jets’ Madison Hollman finished 95th in 26:25.05, while Amanda Steward was 107th (26:58.74), Lucie Asher 119th (27:54.94) and Reiss Kistler 171st (33:30.72).

The Lancers’ lone girls runner, Shyleigh Goble, finished 162nd in 32:39.42.
