CPD arrests driver, recovers stolen vehicle after notification from Flock camera

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Columbus police officers recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested a person with multiple warrants after receiving a stolen vehicle alert from a Flock camera on Tuesday evening.

At approximately 5:45 p.m., CPD officers received a notification from a Flock camera regarding a stolen vehicle entering the city, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. Officers located the vehicle and conducted a felony traffic stop near State Road 46 and Carr Hill Road.

The driver, who was later identified as Sarah N. Ferguson, 24, of Gary, was taken into custody, Harris said. A short time later, officers determined that Ferguson had multiple out-of-county warrants for her arrest. The vehicle she was driving, a Mazda CX5, was reported stolen in Georgia, Harris said.

Ferguson was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of a
Hendricks County warrant, Lake County warrant, Johnson County warrant, auto theft and driving while suspended with a previous conviction.
