COLUMBUS
Betty J. Smith, 76, passed away at 7:43 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2022 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Betty was born January 21, 1946, the daughter of Lawrence Lorenzo and Faye Hunter Waggoner. In May of 1964, she married Eugene Smith.
Survivors include her children, Mike (Anna) Smith of Ohio, Ilene Blair of Columbus, Robert (Bobby) Smith of Seymour; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Annette Kimberlin of Columbus; brother, Keith Waggoner of Columbus; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene; ten brothers; four sisters; one nephew, two great-grandchildren and son-in-law, Daniel Blair.
The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Thursday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3330 30th Street, Columbus, Indiana 47201, with Bishop Matthew Henrichsen officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church. A second funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday at the Cresthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens, 3522 Dixie Highway, Bedford, Indiana 47421, with Bryan Busselberg officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Cresthaven Memorial Gardens in Bedford.
