COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Ed Deeter, 84, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 12:12 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Ed was born in Morrilton, Arkansas, July 18, 1938, the son of Archie C. and Rosa L. Tiner Deeter.
Ed was a U.S. Army Veteran, carpenter and home builder and always had a passion for woodworking.
He is survived by his sons, Darren Deeter of Columbus and Dennis Deeter of Bloomington; grandchildren, Austin Deeter of Columbus and Bronson Deeter of Columbus; a sister, Wanda (Ron) James of Columbus; sister-in-law, Ann Deeter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nieces, Michelle (Scott) Brown of Columbus and Lisa Deeter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nephews, Brian and Gene Jones of Arkansas; and his companion, JoAnn Essex of Hope and her daughters.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Rosa Deeter; brother, James Deeter; sister, Betty Jones; and nieces, Debbie Schultz and Dana Gail Jones.
In keeping with Ed’s wishes, cremation will take place. Private inurnment will be at the Garland Brook Mausoleum. Full military honors will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
