MADISON
Mrs. Lorna Kay Davisson Ashby, age 81, of Hanover, Indiana formerly of Shirley, Indiana entered this life on May 29, 1941 in Shirley, Indiana. She was the daughter of the late Charles Cleo and Esther L. Hoover Davisson. She graduated from Wilkinson High School in 1959. On May 22, 1959 she was united in marriage to Rexford Bolen Ashby in Shirley, Indiana. This happy union of 53 years was blessed with two daughters, Rhonda DeAnne and Lora Leigh. Lorna was raised and baptized in the Shirley Christian Church in Shirley, Indiana. She enjoyed singing with her late husband in “The Songsters” and “The Messengers”. The proceeds from their concerts were used to fund the building of a hospital in Rhodesia through the Hippo Valley Mission. She worked for Western Electric for 20 years as a line worker; and then she worked at Wal-Mart for 15 years in Columbus, Indiana where she had resided. She moved to Hanover, Indiana in 2010 from Shirley, Indiana. Lorna was a current member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church at Hanover, Indiana. She enjoyed playing the piano for various churches, writing songs and reading. Lorna died on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at 12:15 a.m. at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus, Indiana with her loving family at her side.
A LOVING FAMILY
Lorna will be missed by her loving daughters, Rhonda De Anne Ashby Snow and her husband Mike of Hanover, Indiana, Lora Leigh Ashby Ferneau and her husband Mace of Hanover, Indiana; her grandchildren, Landon Clark Ferneau (Cally Bailey) and Tyrus Rexford Snow; her great granddaughter, Cheyenne DeLynn Hutchinson; her sisters in law and brothers in law, Carolyn Davisson of Elsmere, Kentucky, Terry DeLong of Griffith, Indiana, Gale Ashby and his wife, Barbara of Clarksville, Indiana, Priscilla Heinzelman and her husband, David of Greenfield, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Cleo Davisson, her mother, Esther L. Hoover Davisson, her beloved husband, Rexford Bolen “Rex” Ashby, her sisters, Janet M. LaVallee and Arlene J. DeLong, her brother, Donald Davisson, her grandson, Thomas James Hutchinson.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 221 Kuntz Road at Hanover, Indiana. Interment will be in the Harlan Cemetery in Hancock County, Indiana.

Friends and family may visit on Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 221 Kuntz Road at Hanover, Indiana.
