Bull Dogs best Stars

BEDFORD — Columbus North overcame a third-set setback to finish off a 25-17, 25-20, 20-25, 25-14 win Tuesday at Bedford North Lawrence.

Karen Dutro led the Bull Dogs (11-12) with 17 kills and 11 blocks. Emma Burns recorded 29 assists, Emily Stair notched 18 digs and Logan Branstetter served four aces.

Also for North, Branstetter tallied nine kills and five blocks, and Kennedy Horn pounded eight kills. Katelynn Mabis added 13 digs and two aces.

Jets fall to Chargers

GREENSBURG — Hauser won the third set, but North Decatur finished off a 25-10, 25-23, 18-25, 25-19 to wrap up the Mid-Hoosier Conference title.

Kenze Bostic led the Jets (19-9, 4-1) with 16 kills, two blocks and three aces. Adrianna Musillami recorded 36 assists, Paige McDaniel had two blocks and Kyra Meister notched 18 digs.

Also for Hauser, Aniston Bostic pounded 11 kills, Kayden Miller added six kills and Aniston Bostic had one block. Charlie Clark and Mattie Foster each tallied 12 digs, and Clark and Meister each added one assist and one ace.

Panthers sweep Cubs

MADISON — Jennings County cruised to a 25-15, 25-11, 25-19 win at Madison.

Charlee Barlow pounded nine kills, Taylor Mowery notched 17 digs and Megan Vogel served five aces to lead the Panthers (19-8).

Cougars win in 5

GREENSBURG — Oldenburg Academy rallied from a two-set deficit to force a fifth, but South Decatur claimed a 25-20, 25-18, 21-25, 21-25, 15-9 victory.

Zsophia Sharp led the Cougars (12-12) with 23 kills, two blocks and two aces. Makayla Somers recorded 44 assists, and Paige McQueen notched 28 digs.

Also for South Decatur, Sophie Bushhorn tallied 20 kills, one block and 24 digs, and McQueen pounded seven kills. Lydia Witkemper had six assists and 24 digs, Molly Eden notched 22 digs and Somers added one block.

Braves edge Eagles

NASHVILLE — Brown County won the first and fourth sets, but Indian Creek pulled out a 17-25, 25-20, 25-19, 23-25, 15-9 Western Indiana Conference win.

Londyn Koester led the Eagles (6-15, 4-3) with 15 digs and five aces. Abigail Watson pounded 17 kills, and Morgan Osborn recorded nine assists.

Also for Brown County, Madilyn Hawley tallied six kills and eight assists, Emma Lucas each had six kills, and Anna Stogsdill added five kills, seven assists and seven digs. Watson notched 12 digs and two aces, Osborn added 10 digs and two aces and Cady Kemp served four aces.

Greensburg tops Trinity

SEYMOUR — Class A No. 3 Trinity Lutheran rolled in the first two sets, but Greensburg rallied for a 15-25, 11-25, 25-21, 29-27, 15-10 victory.

Bailey Tabeling recorded 31 kills and four blocks, and Addison Darlage had 62 assists and six aces to lead the Cougars (17-6). Laura Roeder notched 40 digs.

Also for Trinity, Carson Bowling tallied 28 kills, two blocks and two aces, and Darlage added six kills and 13 digs. Madison Keith had two blocks, and Drew Hubbard contributed 19 digs.

GIRLS SOCCER

North blanks Batesville

BATESVILLE — Columbus North closed the regular season with a 1-0 win at Class 2A No. 12 Batesville.

Paige Terry scored the goal in the first half for North (7-5-3). Mallory Gilley posted four saves.

Trinity topples GCA

GREENWOOD — Trinity Lutheran managed 14 shots, but only one goal in a 5-1 loss at Greenwood Christian Academy.

Emma Myers scored the goal for the Cougars (8-7). Samantha Enzinger recorded 11 saves.

Jets stop Saints

HOPE — Hauser wrapped up the regular season with a 4-1 win against Indianapolis Lutheran.

Caleb Wallace beat JT Anderson 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Jackson Burcham topped Isaac Vance 7-5, 6-4 at No. 2 singles for the Jets (6-11). Levi Gollmer and Hunter Pappano blanked Josh Amstutz and Matt Nading 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles.

Hauser’s JJ Dickey fell to Joe Amstutz 7-5, 6-2 at No. 3 singles.

Panthers top Eagles

NASHVILLE — Andrew Titus picked up his first win as a head coach in Jennings County’s 3-1 win at Brown County.

Keiton Miller scored two goals, and Fernando Abarca added one goal for the Panthers (2-13). Nathan Davis notched two assists, and Cole Bingham had one assist. Deken Simpson posted five saves.

Carter Norcutt scored the goal for the Eagles (2-9). Bradley Arndt and Mareck Reeves each recorded three saves.
