BOYS SOCCER

Jets post victory

INDIANAPOLIS — Zach Weichman scored two goals Thursday to lead Hauser to a 5-1 win at Irvington Preparatory Academy.

Elian Escalanate, Owen McIntyre and Ethan House all scored one goal for the Jets (4-7-1). Lakota Robbins and Reagan Johnson each had two assists.

Hauser outshot Irvington Prep 31-2. Will Walters posted one save.

Bulldogs top Panthers

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County wrapped up the regular season with a 10-1 HHC loss to New Albany.

The Panthers (2-14, 0-6) scored on an own goal. Deken Simpson recorded eight saves, and Cooper Reeves added one save.

Braves edge Eagles

NASHVILLE — Brown County got a goal from Ethan Scott, but dropped a 2-1 WIC decision to Indian Creek.

Bradley Arndt posted four saves for the Eagles (2-10, 1-6).

GIRLS SOCCER

East ties Seymour

SEYMOUR — Colubmus East missed out on a chance to tie for the Hoosier Hills Conference title when it managed only a 0-0 tie with Seymour.

The Olympians (7-5-4, 4-0-2) outshot the Owls 9-5. Anna Liimatta posted three saves for East, which finished a half-game behind Floyd Central.

Of perhaps more concern for the Olympians is the health of senior Norah Dwenger heading into next week’s sectional. Dwenger injured a knee in first two two minutes of the game and did not return.

Eagles blank Braves

TRAFALGAR — Brown County used goals from four different players in a 4-0 Western Indiana Conference win at Indian Creek.

Xyleigh Thompson, Alli Majors, Sarah Callahan and River Ford scored goals for the Eagles (4-4-1, 4-4). Savannah Oden had an assist, and Anna Tipton posted four saves.

Panthers fall in final

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County fell just short of a sectional title with a 3-2 loss to Southwestern (Hanover) in the Jennings Sectional final.

Owen Law beat Jordan DeAtley 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Parker Bales topped Brayden Helton 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2 singles for the Panthers (15-9). Law will advance in the individual state singles tournament.

Jennings’ Janne Sebastian fell to Brady Cook 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 singles. Justin Ramey and Ryan Schuck lost to Carter Harmon and Mason Lichlyter 6-4, 7-6 (2) at No. 1 doubles, and Alex Leach and Ty Zohrlaut lost to Tanner Jacobs and Braxton Lewis 7-6 (6), 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

Tigers top Crusaders

CROTHERSVILLE — Columbus Christian won the first set, but Crothersville rallied for a 19-25, 25-18, 25-11, 25-13 victory.

Anika Jenkins led the Crusaders (6-13) with seven kills, one block and five aces. Grace Johnson recorded seven assists, and Emma Murray notched 13 digs.

Also for Columbus Christian, Emma Murray pounded five kills, and Alexys Murray added three kills, eight digs and one ace. Emma Sewell tallied six assists, Jenkins and Paige Harden each had five digs and Johnson served three aces.

Panthers down Warriors

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County picked up its 20th win of the season, a 25-21, 25-11, 25-15 victory against Scottsburg.

Taylor Mowery led the Panthers (20-8) with 11 digs and two aces. Charlee Barlow pounded eight kills, Zoie Suhre had six blocks and Addison Martin notched 11 digs.

Eagles sweep Spartans

SHELBYVILLE — Brown County rolled to a 25-17, 25-11, 25-20 win at Southwestern (Shelby).

Londyn Koester led the Eagles (7-15) with 18 digs and five aces. Abigail Watson pounded nine kills, Madilyn Hawley recorded 18 assists and Anna Stogsdill had two blocks.

South Decatur falls

RISING SUN — South Decatur won the second set, but Rising Sun posted a 25-17, 24-26, 27-25, 25-19 victory.

Zsophia Sharp recorded 16 kills and three aces, and Makayla Somers had 26 assists and three aces to lead the Cougars (12-13). Sophie Bushorn added 10 kills, and Molly Eden had two blocks.

Pioneers top Trinity

CLARKSVILLE — Class A No. 2 Trinity Lutheran fell to 3A No. 1 Providence 25-13, 25-20, 25-20.

Addison Darlage led the Cougars (17-7) with 28 assists and three aces. Bailey Tabeling pounded 21 kills, and Laura Roeder notched 17 digs.
