Asbury United Methodist Church — Asbury offers a traditional service at 8:45 a.m. and a contemporary service at 11 a.m. Nursery is available for both services. J.A.M. (children’s church) is offered at both services. The church also offers Sunday school classes at 10 a.m.

Have you ever wanted to ask Jesus a question face to face? We may not get a chance in this life, but others had that opportunity during Jesus’ life. Sundays through Oct. 2, we will explore those questions, Jesus’ answers, and what they mean for us today in our sermon series, “The Things They Asked.”
Every Thursday when school is in full-day session, a $4 taco/chicken lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with Pit Stop (Taco Church) Lunch.

Columbus Baptist Church — The church offers worship services on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. A teen service is offered at 6:30 p.m. Sunday school for all ages meets at 9:30 a.m.

East Columbus Christian Church — East Columbus Christian Church is open for in-person worship on Sunday mornings with a blended worship service at 10 a.m. The church also has online worship available through Facebook and YouTube.
Sunday morning Bible study is at 9 a.m. Youth meet at the church from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and children’s ministry meets through Zoom on Wednesdays at 5 p.m.

East Columbus United Methodist Church — Pastor Jongmin Lee will bring the message at the 9 a.m. Sunday morning worship service. The blended worship service includes praise music, traditional hymns and children’s moment. Sunday school is held immediately following the morning service, and classes are available for all ages and Bible interests. Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month.
A free hot meal will be served Oct. 9 and the second Sunday of each month at 5 p.m. in the Youth Center Building. All are welcome to come.

Faith Lutheran Church — Worship each Sunday begins at 9 a.m. in-person and livestreamed on the church’s Facebook page. Most Sundays, Sunday school and an adult Bible study are offered from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Wednesday evening worship (masks required) takes place at 6:30 p.m. each week. The congregation also livestreams a daily devotion and prayer Monday through Thursday at 7 a.m. on the Facebook page.
Preschool classes began on Aug. 16 and the congregation offers an afterschool program each school day from 3 to 5:30 p.m. with busing from Southside Elementary.

First Presbyterian Church — Oct. 2 is World Communion Sunday, and together with believers around the globe, the church will celebrate the sacrament. As the church ponders how people live out their faith, Pastor Felipe Martinez will reflect on Lamentations 1:1-6, 3:19-26, 2 Timothy 1:1-14 and Luke 17:5-10 with a sermon titled “Done only what we ought.” The choir will lead worship.
The church is worshiping in person in the sanctuary (masks requested inside). The service will be at 9:30 a.m. at church or livestreamed on Facebook, Zoom or YouTube.
People in the community in need of a meal are invited to our hot meals offered Fridays at 5 p.m. (Please enter through the glass doors on Franklin Street.) We are an LGBTQ-friendly church, open and affirming to all.

First United Methodist Church — On Sunday, Oct. 2, at 10 a.m., the Rev. Howard Boles will deliver the message, “Faithful Together: What Lives On”. The scripture will be 2 Timothy 1:1-14.
The church encourages those attending in person to arrive 10 minutes before the service. Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrances to the sanctuary. Masks are optional. Sunday school for kids up to eighth grade will begin at 9 a.m. in the fellowship hall. Childcare will be available from 9:45 a.m. until the end of the 10 a.m. service.
For those unable to attend the in-person service or not yet comfortable meeting in person, service livestreams will be available on the church Facebook page, facebook.com/columbusfumc, and our YouTube channel (go to youtube.com and search for FUMC Columbus). Videos will be available on the church website for later viewing as well.
On Saturday, Oct. 1, the church will have its annual “Blessing of the Animals” in the green space at Ninth and Lafayette. Bring your pet at 10 a.m. to receive a blessing.
On Friday, Oct. 7, the church will host the Singing Hoosiers in concert at 7 p.m. This will be a ticketed event due to the seating capacity of the sanctuary. Tickets are free, however, and can be picked up at the church office. Limit 10 tickets per person. Tickets, as well as seating in the sanctuary the night of the concert, will be first come, first served.

Flintwood Wesleyan Church — Sunday morning worship begins at 9 a.m. with the Amplify (contemporary) service. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m. with classes for all age groups. Garden City Christian Church — Sunday School classes are available for infants through adults at 9 a.m. Pastor Brian Gilroy continues to lead the church through the 1 Corinthians sermon series during the 10 a.m. Sunday morning worship service.
Wednesday evening youth group runs from 6 to 8 p.m. for grades 6-12. Trail Life Troop IN-0110 meets twice monthly on Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.
On Sunday, Oct. 30, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., the church invites the community to join for a free evening of fun, family-friendly, side-splitting comedy and mind-blowing magic. Featuring internationally known magical entertainer, Brad Brown. Kids will receive a bag of candy after the show.

Old Union United Church of Christ — Pastor Al White, the church’s transitional pastor, is leading worship and sharing messages that encourage firm foundations of faith in Jesus. Simple church — simply Jesus.
The church has added a time for discipleship growth at 9 a.m. on Sunday mornings. There’s always a coffee and donut time downstairs before the morning worship time at 10 a.m.

Petersville United Methodist Church — The church will gather at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, to celebrate World Communion Sunday and will hear Pastor Rebecca Milne’s sermon, “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?”, and will use the theme, “If you are a Christ Follower, you have a Mission!” Scriptures will come from 2 Timothy 1:1-14.
Kathy Bush will serve as worship and song leader, and Teresa Covert will share a message with the children. There will be a time of fellowship following the service.
On Oct. 1 and 2, the United Methodist Women of Faith will be at Bush’s Market selling snacks as the annual “Pumpkin Shoot” takes place.
On Oct. 2, the United Methodist Men will meet at the church at 7:15 a.m. for their monthly meeting. Also on Oct. 2, the Bible study class will gather at 5:30 p.m. and Pastor Milne will lead the third lesson of “The Chosen.”
On Oct. 9, the annual Southeast District Charge Conference will be held at the church at 4 p.m. Members of the church are encouraged to attend.
The children of the Petersville neighborhood are invited to visit “Trunk or Treat” in the church parking lot on Oct. 29 beginning at 5:30 p.m.

Sandy Hook United Methodist Church — Sandy Hook United Methodist Church gathers weekly for in-person and online worship. The church will offer two services on Oct. 2 — the traditional service at 8:45 a.m. and the contemporary service at 11 a.m. Pastor Paul Dazet will bring the message “Good News For Our Neighborhoods” as part of the new sermon series “Won’t You Be My Neighbor.”
Nursery is available for children 2 and younger through the service. Sunday School is offered for all ages between the two services.
Today, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the church will be providing the community with a fall bazaar that will have different themed areas to shop in. All money raised will go to support missions within the community through Sandy Hook.

Sandy Hook United Methodist Church — Three years in the making due to COVID, the Fall Bazaar 2022 is finally happening! With all the conflict in the world today, this event is to raise money for missions to provide outreach to our community and worldwide, whether it is to help one person or one community/country.
The bazaar is Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be a variety of stations selling items in settings like a boutique, handmade crafts, greenhouse, library, sweet shop, and flea market items. All money from the bazaar goes to mission work for the church. Being a mission event, the church is also collecting tomato soup at this event to go toward a goal of 1,300 cans. This will take place in the parking lot of the church or inside in the event of inclement weather.
