Deadline for election letters is Oct. 17

Paid political letters to submitted for publication in The Republic before the Nov. 8 general election must be received by 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17. The Republic publishes letters to the editor during campaign seasons in support of or in opposition to political candidates and/or parties only after a $25 fee is received.

To submit a letter, go to therepublic.com/submit-letter-to-editor. The fee may be paid by credit card by calling The Republic at 812-379-5658 or 812-379-5612. If paying by check or money order, payment may be mailed to 2980 N. National Road, Attn: Business Office, Columbus, Ind., 47201, or you may pay in cash in person at the front counter of our office at 2980 N. National Road in Columbus.

The Republic’s standard rules for letters to the editor also apply to paid political letters. Among these, letters may be no more than 500 words, writers may have no more than one letter published every 30 days, and The Republic reserves the right to edit letters for accuracy, content and style.
