EDINBURGH — Georg Utz, Inc., a family-owned Swiss company, recently held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of a new warehouse expansion in Edinburgh.

The new addition features approximately 135,000-square-feet of warehouse space, six shipping and receiving docks, and reinforced roofs to support solar panels.

All employees were invited to attend and over 130 participated. Scissors were given to each person in attendance to cut the ribbon together. Many took their part of the ribbon home and the scissors were donated to local school systems. A catered lunch was offered after the ribbon-cutting.

An office is currently being built onto the side of the warehouse that will serve as the new front of the building and feature space for meetings, a large kitchen and product showroom.

Georg Utz, Inc. manufactures returnable plastic containers, pallets, component holders and custom solutions.

Along with the company’s facilities in Edinburgh, the company has manufacturing plants in Switzerland, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Poland, China and Mexico.
