The Bartholomew County Commissioners have signed a county-wide burn ban at the request of Bartholomew County fire chiefs.
The ban goes into effect today and will remain in effect for seven days at which time it will be re-evaluated and extended if needed.
County officials said rain is in the forecast for this afternoon and Wednesday, and if sufficient rainfall occurs to improve conditions, the ban may be lifted at that time.
