Three arrested after search warrant served Thursday night

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Three people were arrested by SWAT officers Thursday as a result of an ongoing investigation by the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team.

On Thursday evening, members of the Columbus Police Department SWAT Team, which is
comprised of CPD officers as well as officers from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office,
served a search warrant at a residence in the 2800 block of 12th Street in Columbus, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

During a search of the residence, officers located methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana,
synthetic marijuana, and drug paraphernalia inside the home, Harris said.

Three people were taken into custody. They were remanded to the Bartholomew County Jail on the following preliminary charges:

— Vincent D. Eddelman, 33, of Columbus: Dealing in a narcotic drug (Level 4 felony), possession of a legend drug injection device (Level 6 felony), maintaining a common nuisance (Level 6 felony)

possession of marijuana (Class B misdemeanor)

The investigation into the sale of illegal drugs in Columbus and Bartholomew County continues and additional charges are possible in this ongoing investigation.
The Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team, a combined unit of the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, the Columbus Police Department and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor’s Office is targeting the manufacturing and abuse of dangerous drugs in Columbus and Bartholomew County.
