The Bartholomew County Commissioners have issued a county-wide burn ban effective Thursday afternoon, due to ongoing drought conditions.

County officials are prohibiting campfires, any open burning using wood or other combustible matter, with the exception of grills fueled by charcoal or propane, any burning of debris such as timber or vegetation, including building construction materials and any use of burn barrels at residences.

County officials are also asking that the public refrain from using fireworks.
