HOOSIER TRAILS 5K RUN/WALK, 10 a.m., Nov. 12, Ceraland Park, 3989 S. County Road 525E, Columbus. Event is to promote physical fitness, high adventure and community awareness. Proceeds will benefit Hoosier Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America. Registration open from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The public is welcome. BROWN COUNTY YMCA HILLY HALF-MARATHON, 5K, 10K, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Nov. 19, Brown County State Park, 1801 State Road 46, Nashville. The Brown County YMCA Hilly Half Marathon highlights our county, promotes health, well-being and creates a true sense of community. The half-marathon scenic route starts and finishes at the saddle barn/lower shelter house, winding its way through picturesque Brown County State Park. Up hills, past the fire tower, vistas and then a fast 2 mile downhill finish. Sign up by Nov. 7 to guarantee your shirt! Together with the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department, the library is excited to feature “Bear Snores On” by Karma Wilson in November. The StoryWalk is located along the People Trail near the Pollinator Park in Blackwell Park.

ANNUAL COOKIE WALK, 9 a.m. to noon, Nov. 19, First United Methodist Church, 618 Eighth St., Columbus. The United Methodist Women will be hosting their 32nd Annual Cookie Walk in the Fellowship Hall. A variety of homemade decorative and specialty cookies, including allergy-free and vegan treats will be available for $7 a pound. Fudge, divinity, and other candies will be sold for $5 a half-pound. More Than A Meal ministry is partnering with Sandy Hook again this year to cook, package, and deliver Thanksgiving meals Nov. 23rd, the day before Thanksgiving. Galleries, museums, exhibits

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, 524 Third St., Columbus. The museum is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. BCHS hosts two permanent exhibits that share the history and heritage of Bartholomew County. Learn about our county through interactive, hands-on exhibits that include a map table, notable people, county timeline, Then and Now, Did You Know, early industrialists and videos of Reeves steam engines. The historical society also hosts rotating exhibits throughout the year featuring items from their extensive collection. Decorated trees, extraordinary displays and items from the permanent collection will transform the museum into everyone’s favorite time of year.
