Hackman elected AIC officer

Barbara Hackman, Bartholomew County treasurer, was elected third vice president of the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC) board of directors. She began her term on Nov. 1. Board elections were held during the AIC’s Annual Conference in September.

Hackman started in local government as matron in the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department and worked in several different offices and agencies. She was then elected township assessor, county auditor, and now serves as county treasurer. Hackman has served on the AIC Board previously while in the auditor’s office and is also serving as the AIC Legislative Board Chair.

The AIC Board of Directors sets policies and legislative goals for the association.
