Susan Galbreath Thom Kuehner, age 80, died at her home on November 17, 2022. She is survived by daughter Abby (Eric) Howe and her beloved grandchildren.
Susan was born on March 20, 1942, to Leslie and Gladys Galbreath in Indianapolis (IN).
Having missed her true calling as a librarian, most of her professional life was spent in various roles at Irwin Union Bank, after which she retired in 2004 to travel the world with her dear husband, Karl Kuehner.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Karl and two sisters.
Susan was known for her love of travel, bridge, reading, and time spent with family and friends. She was always up for an adventure, local or global.
Susan was a joy to those who knew her. She was welcoming, kind, and quick to smile and laugh. She made friends easily, many over a bridge table, and through PEO, her garden club, her extraordinary neighborhood, and at Westside Community Church.
In keeping with the family’s request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. at Westside Community Church with Dennis W. Aud officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, please consider an essential donation of blood at any Red Cross blood drive in her honor, or donations may also be made to Our Hospice of South Central. The family would like to express a heartfelt, thank you, to hospice for their care. This allowed Susan to remain in her own home during those final weeks.
Susan will be laid to rest with her husband, Karl, at Washington Park East Cemetery.
