Services and studies
Asbury United Methodist Church — Asbury offers a traditional service at 8:45 a.m. and a contemporary service at 11 a.m. Nursery is available for both services. J.A.M. (children’s church) is offered only at the 11 a.m. service. Sunday school classes meet at 10 a.m. Asbury offers a variety of classes and group studies at various times during the week. The church will host a special Christmas Eve Service on Dec. 24 beginning with an organ Christmas recital at 6:30 p.m. followed by a traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 7 p.m.
Christmas Day will be celebrated with an online service only.
Every Thursday when school is in full-day session, a $4 taco/chicken lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with Pit Stop (Taco Church) Lunch.

Columbus Baptist Church — The church offers worship services on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. A teen service is offered at 6:30 p.m. Sunday school for all ages meets at 9:30 a.m.

East Columbus Christian Church — East Columbus Christian Church is open for in-person worship on Sunday mornings with a blended worship service at 10 a.m. The church also has online worship available through Facebook and YouTube.
Sunday morning Bible study is at 9 a.m. Youth meet at the church from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and children’s ministry meets through Zoom on Wednesdays at 5 p.m.

East Columbus United Methodist Church — Pastor Jongmin Lee will bring the message at the 9 a.m. Sunday worship service. The morning blended worship service includes praise music and traditional hymns. Children receive a special message during children’s moment and are dismissed for children’s church during the service. Sunday school is held immediately after the morning service, and classes are available for all ages and Bible interests. Holy Communion is served on the first Sunday of each month.
A free hot meal will be served the second Sunday of each month at 5 p.m. in the Youth Center Building. All are welcome to come.

Fairlawn Presbyterian Church — The church has in-person and Zoom services at 9:30 a.m. To join on Zoom, email the church office at [email protected] to request a Zoom link.
On Saturday, Dec. 24, Christmas Eve Candlelight Service begins at 6 p.m. in person and via zoom.
On Sunday, Dec. 25, will be a service titled “Go, Tell It on the Mountain.” Worshippers are invited to wear their favorite holiday pajamas or sweater for coffee, hot chocolate and cinnamon rolls in a gathering to celebrate Christ’s birth.

Faith Lutheran Church — Worship each Sunday begins at 9 a.m. in-person and livestreamed on the church’s Facebook page. Most Sundays, Sunday school and an adult Bible study are offered from 10:15 to 11 a.m. Wednesday evening worship (masks optional) is offered at 6:30 p.m. each week. First Presbyterian Church — Merry Christmas! As is the case every few years, The church will have a sweet service of singing and reflection on the love of God in Jesus. The sermon will be based on John 1:1-14 and will be titled “Love is the Word.” The chruch will also celebrate the sacrament of communion. First United Methodist Church — The church will have three options to worship tonight for Christmas Eve: A family service at 6 p.m., a jazz service at 8:30 p.m., and a lessons and carols service at 11 p.m.
On Sunday, Dec. 25, at 10 a.m., the Rev. Howard Boles will deliver the message, “From Generation to Generation: God With Us.” The scripture will be John 1:1-14. Worshippers are invited to wear their most festive sweater to worship that Christmas morning.
The church encourages those attending in person to arrive 10 minutes before the service. Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrances to the sanctuary. Masks are optional. Childcare will be available from 9:45 a.m. until the end of the 10 a.m. service.

Flintwood Wesleyan Church — Sunday morning worship begins at 9 a.m. with the amplify (contemporary) service. Sunday school begins at 10 a.m. with classes for all age groups. Garden City Christian Church — Sunday school classes are available for infants through adults at 9 a.m. On Christmas morning at 11 a.m., the church will host a special Christmas worship service.
The church’s Alzheimer’s and dementia support group for caregivers meets on the first Tuesday of each month, from 4:30 until 6 p.m.

Petersville United Methodist Church — A Christmas Eve Candlelight service will be held at the Petersville United Methodist Church at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 24. Scriptures will be from Titus 3:4-7 and Luke 2:1-20. Pastor Rebecca Milne’s message will be titled “Sacred Being.”
On Dec. 25, Christmas Morning, there will be a casual worship service beginning at 9 a.m. Pastor Milne’s sermon, “Surprisingly Sacred,” will remind the congregation that the sacred comes in the form of surprise sometimes, just as it did when light and life was known anew in the form of a baby in a humble stable. Scriptures will be from Isaiah 52:7-10 and John 1:1-14.
Kathy Bush will serve as worship and song leader, and Teresa Covert will share a message with the children.
A time of fellowship and refreshment will follow the service. The mitten, hat and scarf tree for Clifty Creek Elementary School will remain in the narthex until the end of December.

Sandy Hook United Methodist Church — Sandy Hook United Methodist Church gathers weekly for in-person and online worship. Today is Christmas Eve. There will be a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service at 6 p.m. Pastor Paul Dazet will bring a message about “#DoNotBeAfraid”.
Sunday is Christmas Day, and the church will be offering an online service only available starting at 9 a.m.

St. Paul Lutheran Church — Christmas Eve candlelight services will be held tonight beginning at 4:30 (Spanish), 6:30 and 11:00 p.m. Christmas Day Festival Service with communion will be held Sunday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Doug Bauman presenting the message “The Bells on Christmas Day”, based on Luke 2:1-20.
There will be no Fellowship Hour, Education Hour or Spanish service on Christmas Day.
