Elizabeth May “Lib” Fish

Elizabeth May “Lib” Fish, 96, of Franklin formerly of Hope, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Compass Park in Franklin.

Lib was born in Freetown, Indiana June 22, 1926, the daughter of Henry and Faye O’Connell Knott. She married Henry Fish in Freetown in 1944; he preceded her in death August 24, 1967. She and her late husband owned and operated Fish’s Family Market in Columbus. Later she worked for Spartan’s in Brownstown, a manufacturer of submarine parts.

She was a member of Garden City Church of Christ and the Columbus Chapter of The Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling, her pets, gardening, cooking, crochet and knitting. Lib also volunteered for several humanitarian efforts doing missionary work on Native American reservations and underdeveloped areas in Mexico.

She is survived by her granddaughter, Michelle (Todd) Fortini of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Vivian K. Phair.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Myers~Reed on 25th Street with Rev. Al White officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will follow the service at Garland Brook Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to family at www.myers-reed.com.
