COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Margaret J. Maynard, 89, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Margaret was born in Henagar, Alabama, April 1, 1933, one of nine children born to the late Oscar and Lula McKenzie Moore. On June 17, 1951, Margaret married G.W. Maynard; he preceded her in death August 11, 2003. She later married Clyde C. Boley Jr. June 24, 2005; he died June 9, 2012.
Margaret was self-employed, owning her own upholstery business for many years. She was a member of Bible Church of Columbus and she cherished the time she spent with her grandbabies. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and quilting and she loved her dog, Chloe. Margaret also had a passion for making sure everyone that came to her home had something to eat, it was said that “Margaret loved to feed the people!”
Margaret is survived by her children, Dan (Marsha) Maynard of Elizabethtown, Belinda (Michael) Hatfield of Owensburg, Indiana, Diane (Brad) Winters of Columbus, Keith (Sherry) Maynard of Seymour, and Dana (Burt) Greathouse of Columbus; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; sister, Rochelle Buttran of Alabama; and a brother, Jerry (Alice) Moore of Alabama.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; son, Garry Maynard; and six siblings.
A private family graveside service will be held at Bethel Baptist Cemetery; the Reverend Jerry K. Day Sr. will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, 2626 East 17th Street, Columbus, Indiana 47201.
