Frank “Bud” Suverkrup

Bud died Monday evening January 23, 2023, at his home in Vero Beach, Florida, he was 94 years old,

Bud was born February 29, 1928, in Columbus, Indiana, to J. Carl and Mabel Tellman Suverkrup.

Bud was a graduate of, St. Peter’s Lutheran School, Columbus High School, and Oklahoma University, where he met his wife of 66 years, Beverly Jean Purdy Suverkrup, who preceded Bud in death in 2017.

Bud served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; he was on the dock boarding the ship for Korea when the Peace Agreement was reached.

Bud and Beverly had three children, Craig (Connie) Suverkrup, Mark (Juli) Suverkrup, and Jim Suverkrup.

They also had three grandchildren, Chad (Jenny) Suverkrup, Courtney Suverkrup, and Joseph Suverkrup.

As well as two very adorable great-grandchildren Claire and Rose Suverkrup.

Bud owned and operated the Benzol Cleaning Company, which later became Benzol Industrial Services, until his retirement in 1988.

Bud was the Commodore of the Maxinkuckee Yacht Club in 1966. He loved sailing and power boating.

Bud was a member of the Columbus Municipal Airport, Board of Aviation Commissioners, and was a 4500 hour Instrument and Twin Engine Rated Private Pilot.

Bud and Beverly were members of Grace Lutheran Church, in Columbus, Indiana, as well as the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, in Vero Beach, Florida.

Bud was also preceded in death by his sister Rose Ann Suverkrup Crim, and her husband Jack Crim, who have two children Dr. Robert Crim and Pamela Crim.

Bud loved his family, and he is loved and will be missed by us all.

The family would like to thank, Bud’s very close friends and caregivers, Ernestine Williams and Sharon Thomas, who made it possible for him to live on his own until now.

Thank You God, for this great Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather, and for all the ways You blessed him, and for the great blessing he was to all of us!

The funeral will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor John W. Armstrong officiating.

Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to time of service Saturday at the church.

He will be laid to rest next to his wife at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
