Cougars rout Wildcats
SPENCER — Brown County jumped out to a 38-6 halftime lead and went on to hand South Vermillon a 66-15 defeat Tuesday in the opening round of the Owen Valley Sectional.
Ava Stogsdill led the Eagles (13-9) with 20 points. Abigail Watson scored 11, Katie Tipton had 10 and Lexie Austin and Savannah Oden each added eight.
Brown County advances to play Northview in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Friday.
Trinity tops Shawe
RISING SUN — Class A No. 4 Trinity Lutheran picked up a 51-38 win against Shawe Memorial in the first round of the Rising Sun Sectional.
Bailey Tabeling led the Cougars (18-6) with 26 points. Liza Froedge and Madison Keith each added 10.
Trinity advances to play Crothersville in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Friday
