Columbus Fire Department announces retirement

The Columbus Fire Department (CFD) has announced the retirement of a longtime officer and a longtime firefighter.

Lieutenant Scott Maley, and Firefighter Glenn “Skeeter” Martin, both 29-year veterans of the department, have retired.

Maley joined the Columbus Fire Department in 1994 and is a certified emergency medical technician and hazardous materials technician. He retired from his current assignment as the company officer of fire station #3 on Battalion A. His official retirement date was Saturday, Jan. 28.

Martin also joined the CFD in 1994. He is a certified emergency medical technician and hazardous materials technician.

Martin retired from his current firefighter assignment at fire station #6 on Battalion C. His official retirement date was Feb. 1.

The Columbus Fire Department expressed its deep gratitude to Maley and Martin for their faithful years of service to the department and the community.
