Helen K. Hollis

COLUMBUS

Helen Kathleen (Kathy) Hollis passed away on February 2, 2023 in Franklin Hospital due to complications of pancreatic cancer.

She was born October 16, 1944 in Nashville, Indiana; the daughter of Ora Arto Smith Sr. and Helen Mae (White) Smith. She attended Nashville (Brown Co.) High School and was co-owner of “Columbus Computer” in Columbus, Indiana.

Kathy married the love of her life, Robert E. Hollis on July 13, 1990 in Columbus, Indiana and he survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Richard Lee Smith, Betty Sue McMasters, Judith Ann Boroughs, and Ora Arto Smith Jr.

She was born the 5th child in the family and is survived by her sister Geneva Marie (Mickey) Dinsmore. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She loved many things in life, among those being family, friends, animals (horses and cats especially) and quiet times at home with her husband working in their garden. She also loved home-steading, gardening, watching movies and listening to music. She first met her husband as he played music with his family band for many years.

Kathy requested cremation and a quiet burial with a moment of prayer instead of a public funeral service. Friends and family will be invited to attend her private burial at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour, Indiana sometime Mid-April of 2023. Family and friends may contact Columbus Computer for exact date and time.

While she loved flowers she preferred them growing in her garden. For this reason and in lieu of flowers should you wish to honor her memory you may send cards and contributions for final expenses to Robert Hollis at Columbus Computer (5007 Denny, Columbus, IN 47201). Please make checks payable to Robert Hollis.

Her husband, family, friends, and pet cats (which she thought of like children) will greatly miss her
