James Oliver Grider of Oronogo, Missouri passed away Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023 at his home. His son John was with him.
James (Jim) was born in Columbus, Indiana April 19,1928 to John and Anna Grider. He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, two children, Deborah Grider, Michael Grider, step-son Charles Settles and granddaughter April (West) Mckinnis.
He is survived by his son John West and wife Debbie of the home, two step daughters Cindy Settles of Carterville, MO, Vickie Gummert, Marshalltown, Iowa, and step-son Bruce Settles, Columbus, Indiana along with grandchildren Jessica (West)Neff and Timothy West, step grandchildren Marie Lane, Marti Janssen and great grandchildren.
Jim was a Navy Veteran who served five and a half years. He retired from Webb Corp. Webb City, MO as a machinist. He and wife Shirley owned and operated Broadway Antiques in Webb City before selling the business and moving to Granby, Mo. He lived with his son and daughter-in-law Debbie for the past 3 years.
Graveside services are planned for Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City, Missouri.
