IUPUC softball splits pair in Florida

MELBOURNE, Fla. — IUPUC softball bounced back from a 13-4 loss to Concordia (Michigan) Friday morning with a 10-2 win against Dallas Christian to wrap up its Florida swing.

Columbus North graduate Taylor Hadley went 3 for 3 for the Crimson Pride (5-16) against Dallas Christian, while Macy Hussung went 2 for 2 with two RBIs, Gracie Holok went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and Elyse Goad had two RBIs. Columbus North graduate Rachel Cowan threw a six-hitter in picking up the win.

Concordia (Michigan) scored 11 times in the first inning in Friday’s opener. Cowan, Brown County graduate Taylor Poling and Morgan Steineker all went 2 for 3 for IUPUC. Cowan, Hadley and Hauser graduate Katie Taylor all had an RBI. Maddison Brittain started and took the loss in the circle.
