TULSA, Okla. — Graham Rooks’ quest for an All-American honor came up one win short at the NCAA Wrestling Championships.

The Columbus East graduate, who pulled two upsets on Thursday to reach the 149-pound quarterfinals, dropped a pair of decisions on Friday. The 20th-seeded Rooks lost a 10-7 decision to No. 12-seed Shayne VanNess of Penn State in the quarterfinals, then a 6-2 decision to 10th-ranked Michael Blockhus of Minnesota in a consolation-round match.

Rooks had upset 13th-seeded Kellyn March of North Dakota State 4-3 in the first round and fourth-seeded Caleb Henson of Virginia Tech 5-4 in the second round on Thursday. Rooks finishes the season 28-10.
