Edinburgh man arrested on warrant, fentanyl found during search

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A wanted Edinburgh man was arrested on a drug possession charge after he was observed leaving a Columbus gas station early Friday morning.

Shortly after midnight, CPD offices observed Coy A. Miller, 23, of Edinburgh, leaving a gas station in the 3300 block of West Jonathan Moore Pike. The officers confirmed a local warrant for Miller’s arrest and made contact with him outside of the gas station, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Miller was placed under arrest and officers reportedly located fentanyl inside Miller’s pants pockets while searching him incident to arrest, Harris said.

Miller was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail where he was remanded with a 48 hour hold on the following preliminary charges:
–Possession of a Narcotic Drug (Level 6 Felony)
–Bartholomew County Warrant
